Sometimes there are days that just call for an adventure. Such was the calling on the clear brisk morning a couple of weekends ago when my husband, my dear childhood friend Janaya, and myself headed to an orchard just outside of the city. With the enthusiasm of cooped-up city folk and armed with our baskets, we charged from the car out into the Winesap section of the orchard. Winesaps are heirloom apples that are small, tart and great for baking (foreshadowing: dun dun dunnn). Should you one day find yourself galavanting around the Winesap section of an orchard, and should you happen to sample the flesh of a few fallen apples - know that you won't be disappointed. We certainly weren't. We filled our wicker basket to the brim, perused the beautiful fall harvest at the farmers stand, and headed out for a pint at a nearby pub. I dare say, the perfect way to spend a fall Sunday afternoon!
Janaya, a natural beauty .
I call this picture "A Very Trafford Christmas". For anyone on our Christmas card list, is it too late to say spoiler alert?!
